Linde Werdelin Oktopus Moonphase Complication

Linde Werdelin announces the launch of its latest creation, the Oktopus Moonphase Complication. Powered with an automatic movement built by Frédéric Piguet and with the moonphase manufactured by Linde Werdelin long-time collaborator Sven Anderson, this watch is the perfect balance between innovation and exemplar craftsmanship.
The moon phase is made of Super LumiNova and placed on the bottom of the dial (along the 4 and 8 o’clock markers) to maximize the legibility and unfold seven phases of the moon, from new to half and full. The titanium case contains the Piguet’s complication, built on the date function, which provides a countdown to the next full moon.
Why did Linde Werdelin decide to create a divers’ watch with a moonphase complication? Morten Linde explains: “moonlight creates the perfect conditions for after-hours sports activities, particularly diving." More and more people these days enjoy sports under the full moon. This is one of the reasons why we wanted to produce a moonphase complication for our diver’s watch. One can plan their next diving trip by checking when the next full moon is going to be, then clip the Reef for a safe dive.”
The LW newcomer will be presented at the next BaselWorld 2010 but will not be available until the fall of 2010 and its production will be limited to 29 pieces - like the days before the next full moon. I am sure that with the addition of the moon phase the Oktopus will be the most desired timepiece by all the divers and sports enthusiasts worldwide.

I had the opportunity to check out the 3 TImer here in San Francisco and I love it. It is definitely worth checking out along with the Digital modules that go on top of it.

I was really impressed that the president of the company had come all the way to a trade show in San Francisco along with his team. Totally worth it carries some other brands you may interested in I had not seen in the US before.

BTW, there is also a Rose Gold LW that was a beauty. I liked 99% of the watches in the collection.
