Blancpain 500 Fathoms Only Watch

Unique timepieces are always fascinating and much-sought after by discerning collectors, the Blancpain 500 Fathoms Only Watch N° 1/1 is intriguing and refined. This one-of-a-kind piece was auctioned for 22.000 € at the Monaco Yacht Show, the entire amount will be donated to the research of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. In terms of size, it is relative to the legendary Fifty Fathoms, but the Fathoms 500 Only Watch is bigger with its 48mm diameter titanium case and is also water resistant (to the depths of 100 atmospheres). The anthracite grey dial is adorned with a carbon fibre centre which is the core of its distinction. An elegant blue sapphire ring provides a transparent view of the date disc that rotates beneath the small window based at 6 o’clock. The luminescent coating applied to the hour-markers, bezel markings and hands, along with the red tip of the central seconds hand, ensure optimal readability in all circumstances. The self-winding Calibre 1315 movement is admirable in the back, thanks to the sapphire crystal case. The 500 Fathoms Only Watch N°1/1 is equipped with a rubber-lined black sail canvas strap, while an additional rubber strap and the dedicated instrument required to fix it complete the set, delivered in an ultra-sturdy watertight presentation box able to withstand extreme conditions.
