What do you expect when a designer gets their inspiration by the shape of a kite and windy weather? A flying high sportswear luxury men’s collection with tremendous impact and versatility, that is the Hederus KITES Spring/Summer ensemble for 2009.
The simplicity and the cleanliness of the shapes is what impacts the observer. In fact Julia Hederus’ designs are constructed in pointed, triangular and diamond shapes without barring the rectangular cut that was used in her previous work. The colors of this 30 piece collection are predominantly black and white but there are some items in mild greys, green and some of the creations are enriched with details in blue leather. What I really love about this young and potent Swedish sportswear brand is its capacity to link architectural minimal shapes with street fashion. The must-have items are:The Air Coat: made in polyester with elastic strings and leather details. ![]() The Mc Felt Helmet: Angular helmet with two long earflaps, made in satin polyester coated felt. ![]() The Air Bag: made from painted canvas with the handles and the panels at the bottom made of white leather; it is inspired by army bags. ![]() Website: http://juliahederus.com/ The Hederus KITES collection is made in Sweden and can be purchased at: www.oki-ni.com -Alessandro Gambaro Tags:
