Argentinean designer Dorina Vidoni offers a refreshing, not to mention timely, perspective to the concept of what fashion ought to represent and her designs sparkle with the same kind of illuminating innovation. Vidoni’s name might still be relatively unknown, but her inherently modern notions about design and form, coupled with her undeniable artistic talent, ensure Vidoni a spot in the forefront of the fashion of the future. The cornerstones of Vidoni’s aesthetic; flowing fabrics, sumptuous textures, brilliant gold and jewel tones mixed with flattering neutral shades, as well as cuts that are certain to flatter the female form, are aimed to enhance the lives of women of all shapes and sizes. Dorina Vidoni is hardly a fashion unknown, her designs and ideas have graced the pages of numerous major magazines, South of the border, but Americans have yet to experience all that this up-and-coming designer has to offer. Connecting fashion not only to the wearer, but also to the world in which we live, Vidoni embraces the social responsibility most designers are inclined to ignore; her straightforwardness carries over into the functionality of her designs. A lively departure from the stuffy and oftentimes, constrictive designs, that currently reign supreme in the fundamentally masculine world of high fashion today, Dorina Vidoni is both a force to be reckoned with and an incredibly talented designer. In a manner that is reminiscent of Donna Karan twenty years ago, with the additional flourish of Latin flare, Vidoni is unafraid of what the future holds and her sense of possibility and the grand scale of her ideas could make her, at most, the next leader of a fashion empire and at the very least, a talented and promising new designer whose work we look forward to getting to know better.
