Even the windows to your soul need curtains. Much like the eternal search for the perfect little black dress, finding the perfect little tube of mascara can be daunting. The Ancient Egyptians had kohl and crocodile dung. Entrepreneurial chemist and big brother of Mabel used a mixture of Vaseline and ash as a beauty concoction for his sister. Maybelline Great Lash (4.99$) vs Nars Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara (25.00$).
Really it’s no contest. Price, consistency, you can’t beat a classic. Maybelline all the way.

Lancôme Definicils ( 24.50$) vs. L’Oreal Voluminous Original Black Mascara.
Basically the same but if pushed I would have to choose Lancôme. Slightly thicker formula, which makes for a longer lash. Ain’t that what every girl wants?

Telescopic Explosion Mascara (7.99$) vs. Givenchy Phenomen Eyes Mascara (29.00$).
The ball does it all although to get the same effect as one coat of Givenchy will take two coats of the Telescopic and the thick formula does dry out in the tube faster than you’ll like but if you’re replacing your mascara every three months like you should be doing it’s not so much of a sacrifice.

Dior Show Black Out vs. Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara (8.50$)
Dior because it’s Dior dammit!...and I can’t say I’m a fan of the super wide brush Covergirl uses but that’s just me…

Dr. Hauschka Volume Mascara ( 29.95$) vs. Cargo blu_ray Mascara ( 20.00$)
All natural, no animal testing. It’s unfortunate you must pay for your principles but sometimes you just gotta take a stand.
