No, not the strip club, but if those kind of “girls” get you reading, these ones demand your undivided attention. Girls Girls Girls is a film project which was conceptualized by actor/writer/producer Jenn Fee as she sat frustrated in her little Glendale kitchen alone with her thoughts back in December. Fee teamed up with two amazing female powerhouse producers, April Wade and America Young, and thus, production begun. What was simply an idea, a moment of inspiration, has evolved into a behemoth of a project attracting attention from women across the board from directors to producers, art designers to editors, actors to writers, no talent lost as there is a place for many on this road. 

     Girls Girls Girls is a series of 8 short films written, produced, shot, edited and directed entirely by women. Women of all ages, race and backgrounds will create a diverse 10-minute short, each with a different perspective on feminine power.

     The goal of the project is to empower women within the entertainment industry to work together as artists and businesswomen, helping create more opportunity for one another. Fee, Wade and Young aim to create a project that will showcase the many talents of accomplished artists, as well as introduce unknown talent, and believe that this will be a powerful avenue for those involved creatively and, ultimately, the audience they serve.

     The Girls Girls Girls team is asking these female professionals to create these short films.  No one is getting paid. It's a complete passion project. They are only providing each short with a camera and $1,000.  Then they are let loose to see how far their creativity can go with a budget that will basically cover food and permits (if that).

     They are also working on teaming up with the Big Sister program with the intentions of having teenage girls shadow the women professionals while at work. Observing a team of artists working from concept to the big screen will hopefully be very inspiring to young girls as well as promoting women in power and in the arts.  In addition, their intention is to have a portion of the soundtrack proceeds donated to the Big Brother/Big Sister Program.

     The support from the industry and from talented women everywhere has been astonishing so far and the possibilities are literally endless.  The first official fundraising event for the project will take place on March 13th, 2010. 100% of the donations and proceeds go towards the film.  The entire adventure, from the meager beginnings to the end product, will be captured to create the documentary.
