Remake of "La Notte" with Francesca Inaudi

The 6th edition of Cinema Italian Style presents, other than the selection of the best Italian movies of the year, the marvelous exhibition “Homage to Classic Italian Cinema” of award winning photographer Douglas Kirkland. The Canadian native has always had a great passion for movies. Many people identify his career with the Hollywood movie star portraits that he took during his years at Look and Life magazine, and afterwards on the sets of movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Titanic. After five decades of work and success, Vanity Fair Italy asked him to use his incredible vision for paying homage to the classics of Italian cinema. Who, other than Kirkland could have been better to reproduce the legendary and symbolic images from movies such as: La Dolce Vita, Ladri di Biciclette, La Ciociara, 8 ½, Ossessione. Of course he did it his way, shooting current famous Italian actors in the characters played by Marcello Mastroianni, Sophia Loren, Monica Vitti, and Silvana Mangano. Don’t miss the amazing exhibit “Homage to Classic Italian Cinema”, which is currently on display at the Los Angeles Italian Institute of Culture until November 27th.

The 25 pictures on display include: Stefano Accorsi as Marcello Mastroianni in “8 ½”, Giovanna Mezzogiorno as Sophia Loren in “La Ciociara”, Raoul Bova and Valeria Solarino in the remake of “Il Gattopardo”, Maria Grazie Cuccinotta and Dianele Liotti in the remake of “Ieri, Oggi e Domani”.
